This new category will by necessity be short lived. Sony, the only company authorized to manufacture produced minidiscs, has announced they will no longer
be manufacturing this format. Well, d'uh. It's a closed architecture; you'd thinky they'd have learned their lesson with the Beta Max.
Too bad, too, because I love this medium...the best of both worlds between optical and magnetic. Only a handful of independent labels managed to
put ut minidisc releases, so let's see how far we can take this...
